Practical Limitations of Resistering as AW

I love the sporting rifle platform, it's awesome!

I interpret out of many threads that it may be helpful to post a consolidated list of things you can not do with a rifle that would become registered. Aside from being on another list, that is. More of a practical cheat sheet.

For example - transporting, where you can/can't use, the fact that you can't sell or give to family, can you cross state lines and come back, hunt with it, shoot on BLM, etc.....

Also, my assumption is you can 'de-register' it at a later date (go featureless). That's good if one wants to transfer, sell, or will to a family member.

Let's say you choose to get on that DOJ list: For now.

How does this limit your practical use - because we want to USE our hardware. These aren't guns that sit in a safe for some sort of future alien attack.

I ask because many feel they have only part of the answer,

    Cheers mates!

Best to read for yourself and not rely on people that will not be representing you in court if you are arrested.

Main Points given the current AW regulations

        Cons:
        1. Can't transfer to anyone within California.
          • Upon death your children or beneficiary can have possession for 90 days and they can turn it in to the police or sell out of state.
          • You can sell/transfer it out of state but you can't advertise it? I guess you can't put it up on gunbroker.
        2. For most people they can only transport the weapon from home straight to range and back.
          • Stop by mcdonalds? Felony. Stop by gas station? Felony.
        3. Can only be shot by someone 18 years old and older.
        4. Most be transported in a locked container.

        Pros
        1. Regular magazine release
        2. 26" Overall Requirement (vs 30") good for bullpups like Tavor and Aug

Right now we don't know for sure if the current laws will be applied to this new registration period. There's a chance they could modify them somehow. So take all this with a grain of salt.

The 2nd amendment clearly states "any weapons the government wants to make a list of must be registered. " Stop trying to get around the constitution.

There's already a sticky in the How CA Laws Affect Forum.
ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
