    How to register an AW

So I tried to read the law and from what I can gather it states that we must register our "Assault weapons" by January 1 2017. It also states that DOJ must produce a method for registering these guns. Specifically

30900 (2) Registrations shall be submitted electronically via the Internet utilizing a public-facing application made available by the department.

Where is this registration portal? If they don't produce it by January, is the DOJ violating the law? I asked the DOJ how I should register, and they basically said they are working that out. Its fricking September. I'm not a conspiracy guy, but this really does sound like they are trying to make lawful gun owners into felons.

The California Firearms Application Reporting System (CFARS) is a web-based application that will allow an individual to report their firearms to the Department of Justice (DOJ) using California Reporting Information System (CRIS) reporting forms, as outlined in California firearms laws and regulations. For your protection, the DOJ does not process credit card payments nor does it retain record of the credit card data. All payments are conducted through a third party payment application processing company using secured transactions.

AW owners have until 2018 to register.

30680. Section 30605 does not apply to the possession of an assault weapon by a person who has possessed the assault weapon prior to January 1, 2017, if all of the following are applicable:
        (a) Prior to January 1, 2017, the person was eligible to register that assault weapon pursuant to subdivision (b) of Section 30900.
        (b) The person lawfully possessed that assault weapon prior to January 1, 2017.
        (c) The person registers the assault weapon by January 1, 2018, in accordance with subdivision (b) of Section 30900.

I personally have my doubts that CA DOJ will have an online registration system up and running by 1/1/2017.

              It's 01-01-2018, not 01-01-2017.

Registration time period is between 01-01-2017 and 12-31-2017.

The changes to CA assault weapons laws go into effect on 01-01-2017.
Registration needs to happen before 01-01-2018.

Not only that but also so confusing and with very little notice or out reach to California gun owners. Just like the last two times. I can't count the amount of gun owners I've talked to that say their AW's are registered because they filled out a 4473 form when they bought them.

Come on DOJ, you guys need to step up your game.

Our rulers cannot break the law. They are the law.

You will register. Period. If they haven't provided you sufficient means for compliance, then it's your fault if you don't register.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

                          Californians are mostly idiots.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.
