Was at one of my many local LGS in Sacramento today. They had an x95 in stock I wanted to play with. As I was looking at it I said " would be nice to have this be an RAW and lose the barrel extension and BB.
I get s reply of "no the 2 bills that passed changed the definition of an AW and you must keep your BB on the rifle" I asked him " didn't the bill just outlaw the BB making it also considered a detachable magazine like a regular magazine release?"
Reply: " no it just makes your register your AR as an AW with a BB"
I asked if an " assault weapon" has evil features and a detachable mag. He says yes.
So my question is, if an "assault weapon" is an "assault weapon" then by definition it can have a detachable mag
He then told me that's not what DOJ told him.
I'm hearing this at almost every LGS I visit.
Is this FUD? Or am I still speculating to much on an unknown topic?
