Why would he do that? He has the desire to make sure no one except state-sanctioned forces are going around armed. With the police harassing anyone who carries openly, he's pretty much getting what he wants.

What confuses me is the politician (Rep Young) in the article who claims he's going to forward legislation that will ban LOC. But aren't Wisconsinites allowed to OC by their state constitution and the findings of their own Supreme Court? Either I'm missing something in Wisconsin's situation, or Young really doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

Are you trying to imply that an elected legislator might actually not know anything about the law or the constitution of this country or his own state?

      Say it ain't so!!!

          Radio, 06-13-2009

The hosts of Cutting Edge Outdoors have asked me to be a guest on their show Saturday, June 13th from 6 AM - 8 AM on SportsRadio 1250 AM WSSP, which is heard in the Milwaukee area and also streams online from http://www.sportsradio1250.com/ by pressing the Listen Live button on the top right.

If you would like to call in and ask questions or comment about my arrest for planting a tree while armed, the radio station phone number is (414) 799-1250 and I'd be happy to your call live during the show.

By the way, Rep. Young does know what he's talking about, he's just having a hard time doing it with the Wisconsin Constitution standing in his way, which is why the Governor is trying to remove state preemption.

You know, all this turmoil is making me want to take a side trip to Wisconsin one day.

Does Wisconsin have a stop-and-ID statute?

Even if they didn't, I'm sure you would be forced to ID anyway, if they're going as far as to charge disorderly sober tree-planters in their own yards.

In rural areas, Loaded-open carry is not prohibited. In populated/metro areas, unloaded-open carry is legal, with certain exceptions (school zones for example).

We take great interest in the state of the Right to Arms everywhere in the nation, believe me. News items tend to get discussed here very rapidly. What happens to one gun owner affects all the others. After all, California law tends to spread everywhere, so our successes and failures unfortunately have a particularly large ripple effect. And one of the more powerful arguments we will have about liberalizing CCW is the fact that forty-some states have already proven that it is no public safety hazard.

I've not heard the term "NATO doctrine" used on Calguns, but it is used elsewhere. The concept is well recognized, however.

What do you need guns for if you are going to send your children, seven hours a day, 180 days a year to government schools? What do you need the guns for at that point?-- R. C. Sproul, Jr. (unconfirmed)

I must not get out often enough. I presume that this doesn't mean we have to wear blue berets?

I think that between Monica L. and berets being passed out to any and all servicemen they've lost a lot of the allure they may have once held.

(I don't hold it against any serviceman who chooses to wear a beret with his uniform. It is the rule and as long as the beret is no longer reserved for SF then there's no reason for a serviceman not to wear one)
