    proposed referendum

this goes hand in hand with recalling deleon and newsom and similar proposals. (and it's kind of a rant against what has clearly become out of control government and legislators.)

    1. lower term limits to ONE six year term PER LIFETIME FOR ANY ELECTED POSITION AT ANY LEVEL. that means if you serve on a city council or as a state senator, etc., for a term, THAT'S IT...NO MORE.

    2. no pensions or benefits once you leave office. salaries, pensions and benefits are a MAJOR portion of most governmental entities ie, taxpayers, expenditure.

    3. no special treatment or benefits...such as travel by taxpayer expense. it costs the taxpayers $240,000.00 PER HOUR to fly AF ONE as an example and why should Joe Biden spend $50,000 per night for a hotel suite? use reasonable public transportation and lodging for legislators. BO has spent nearly a billion dollars just on vacations. how many healthcare premiums would that pay for those in need?

    4. no special police or security protection for legislators. have the same security and protection as we average citizen get.

    5. this is a very important one: NO MORE POLITICAL APPOINTEES for ANY position. have an established, non-partisan, commission interview, select and hire, judges, "Czars", department heads etc.. we all shutter at the thought as to what may happen to the SCOTUS if hillary gets to appoint justices...

and yes, i realize some of this is covered in the constitution about terms and appointments, etc...however...if we are to keep what we have now in the way of our freedoms, it may mean amending the constitution and there are procedures in place to do that. we just have to put pressure on the right people to get it done or elect those who WILL change it.

we have lost "Check and balance" in our governments, especially here in California. there's a reason why many refer to California as "The Republik of Kaliforniastan"...

i guess i better switch back to de-caf...

i am a legend in my own mind...

we are told not to judge muslims by what a few do...yet, the NRA membership and firearms owners are ALL considered as radical...

Term limits have worked so well for us up until now. Why not double down?

Technically 'initiative' - 'referendum' is what is currently being worked on, where a law passed by the Legislature is challenged.

Initiatives add new law or amend existing law.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

You can change the California Constitution with an initiative. If you look at Prop. 8 (Marriage is between a man and a women.) that changed the constitution with an initiative.
