So if we get enough signatures for the veto....

And it's on this year's ballot do you really think we can win or is it better that it gets on the ballot another year so we can raise money to inform the public.

If it gets on this year's ballot I don't see how this will get passed with so many measures and more lib voters for Hillary

    Or am I missing something?

It's a uphill fight brother. We are in a heavily populatated democratic state and the voters are not well informed. It will be tough but we have a good start

It depends on how closely the legislature is representing the public. I'm no expert in voter turnout but I would guess it will be an all hands on deck election due to being a presidential election and a highly contentious one at that.

But first things first, let's get it on the ballot.

So if we get enough signatures for the veto....

        This is kalifornia.

One, obergruppenfuhrer harris will make sure they never certify the signatures. So it'll never qualify.

Two, somehow it manages to qualify. It'll never pass. A) this is kalifornia, it'll never pass. B) this is kalifornia. The vote counters are kalifornia. It never get enough votes.

Three, through some miracle it passes. This is kalifornia, they'll ignore it. Remember prop 8. No matter you're opinion of it, the government and its officials (remember brown and his AG argued not on behalf of the people, which was his job, but in favor of the plaintiffs. Gaulieter newsom blatantly ignored the law and openly violated it without recourse) acted with blatant disregard for their constitutional obligations.

Four, through an even greater miracle it passes and takes effect. The tyrants ruling us will write newer, even more onerous laws. This is kalifornia.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Even if you are 100% certain it won't work you should go sign just to spit in Newsom's eye, De Leon's too. And maybe give Brown a wake-up call when he sees how close we can come even on short notice. Let them know we are awake now and ready to act.

And who knows, if enough people who think it won't work sign anyway... it just might. It costs only a few minutes of your time... is that too steep a price? You can afford it, just do it. Please.

            ^^ this

Are we at the point where we give up before even trying?

If the majority of gun owners have that negative opinion then california would be a mess for gun owners..oh, wait.....

We are the best resource the enemy could hope for, ready to roll over before even trying
            to push back.

We need every signature we can get, is 5 mins too much of a price?

I think it will give you an idea of whether or not you want to stay in California or not. If they get shot down, you will see that the Constitution is dead in California, not just appearing dead like it seems now. If the people are dumb enough to vote thumbs down on the constitution, they will vote thumbs down on any of the amendments

You will know where you stand here for the future. The rule of law has broken down to the point the constitution isn't used here anymore except as a reference to an outdated historical document with no meaning in the 21st century.

There is "no controlling legal authority" to enforce the provisions of the constitution in California. All you have to fight with is 27% republicans vs 45% democrats in this state here. That is not enough to move the needle here. The Feds have checked out with Lynch and Comey so no help from Washington either. You know what they want, socialism on steriods.

All you have left here are the courts, stuffed with Clinton and Obama appointees and the corrupt 9th circus.

That's the good news. The bad news is we are bringing in more immigrants than at any time in our history, they bring zero concern for the 2nd admendment and their kids will outvote you and your kids. That population bomb will transform the USA into a third world country in another generation.
You and your kids will have a smaller pie to consume and it's going to get very crowded.

You guys are missing it......this needs to be on the ballot any year but this year we won't have any money or time to get the votes we need in this rush. And with a huge amount of ballot measures most will just vote no rather than read it and understand. In an off presidential election year we have a low turn out in general so we could get the gun owners up and out to vote while the libs go to the beach.

I have no doubt we will get enough signatures but we need to set this up to succeed that's all

You have touched on something I would prefer but is also a double-edge sword; if it gets delayed to end up on the 2017 ballot, and not this year or 2018, or is it better to have it on the ballots for 2016?

                      1) Because of all the Hillary voters actually turning off re-runs of Oprah or the Kardashians and getting up off the couch to vote will also have a say on this, if it ends up on THIS years' November ballot.

                      2) 2017 rather than 2018 because then that will be CA's vote for Governor which will bring that same gaggle of idiots out off the welfare-funded apartment to vote for Newsom, Garcetti, Tony Villar, or Feuer for Govenor.

The only catch is that Newsom's initiative will be on this November's ballot too, so it would be best to counter that with any chance we got; otherwise, if THAT gets approved, even waiting to turn back these bills in 2017 will be all for naught as Newsom's debacle gets voted in this coming election.

Signed the petition today and will go door to door if needed to get as many votes as possible. I can't believe CG'ers are even debating this.

I do want to comment about immigrants. Seems like every generation has objected to the current wave of immigrants. Irish, Italian, German, Chinese, Japanese, they all got the shaft at first, "oh no, they will destroy this country!", and they all helped make America great. What all you descendants of (earlier) immigrants need to understand is that immigrants built this country, and truly love our freedoms. Have a little more faith in America, it was designed to take in the "huddled masses yearning to breathe free". Just my $0.02 worth...

We actually want them to vote no if this hits the ballot. That's how referendums work, they would be voting no on the bill that the gun grabbers wrote. That's why referendums can work in our favor... People too lazy to read tend to vote no.... But I agree, off presidential year should work in our favor

The question is, do the voters truly believe everything their liberal representatives tell them, and support them unequivocally?

I know quite a few Democrats that are avid sportsman and they aren't happy with their liberal legislators. However, with a 45% to 27% voter registration edge, it's going to be an uphill battle.

I do wish this wasn't a presidential election year and that we did have more time to educate voters, because in our absence the media will... Sadly.
