New laws, 1/1/17, and stripped lower speculations

As I read the law and after reading through many threads from people far more educated in legal documents than I have said featureless is still good to go. Throw a monsterman grip on your Ar, Ak, etc, pin the stock, and comp or break and your in the clear. So since featureless is ok......

Anyone want to speculate on stripped lowers? Next year do you believe youll be able to walk into a gun stores and buy 308 AR lowers? Order AK lowers online?

That is of course after the massive panic buying elections always cause. Especially with killery running.

......I dont even want to imagine what the market will be like if she wins

I don't see anything in the new laws that would make stripped lowers be handled differently than they are today.

Lowers will still be available to buy. There will still be options to build featureless, pump action, bolt action, single shot or rimfire ARs.

Stripped lowers will still be available. However, if Clinton becomes president, there might be a national panic buy.

I foresee a lot of gun shops closing due to these new laws. It'll be interesting to see come 1/1/17

Actually, I foresee local gun shops (LGS) doing very well. All of the online ammo market will now be directed at your LGS. I'm sure it's a bitter sweet realization that many of our LGS small business owners are going to realize over the coming years.

After 12-31-2016, stripped receivers will still be legally transferred in CA.

They can be used to legally make:
              A. a manually operated shotgun.
              B. a semi-auto shotgun with a fixed magazine.
              C. a rimfire rifle.
              D. a manually operated centerfire rifle.
              E. a semi-auto centerfire rifle without any prohibited features.
              F. a semi-auto centerfire rifle with a fixed 10 round magazine.

Fixed magazine being a magazine that can not be removed without disassembling the firearm's action.

I foresee a lot of gun shops being gun shops again, with no online ordering of ammo that many are used to.

Honestly, I buy the vast majority of my ammo and accessories online, simply because the old stand-by gun shops that I remember are simply no more, and not as stocked as they were in years passed...

I would like to see that change, and for brick and mortar gun shops to see a resurgence from all this.

Would complete lowers still be able to be sold through shops, like stripped lowers?

I've been looking into the same thing and from what I read it appears that stripped lowers will be allowed.

However, I believe if you want to register as a AW then you must buy it in 2016.
