Dross denied but but PFEC Cleared?

So I had some legal issues 30 years ago I had every thing cleaned up and corrected. I submitted a PFEC it came clean as I thought it would. When I go to purchase a firearm 2 days before pickup I'm denied. The number given to call is a black hole. Do I try again to make a purchase? Does anyone have any other numbers to call? The odd thing is in Sacramento these office's for the PFEC and DROS checks may be side by side and have different data.

I'm so frustrated what to do ?????

PFEC does not check federal records. So you can pass PFEC and then get denied by NICS when you actually try and purchase. Were your past legal issues, out of state?

You should file a NICS appeal online, asap. Get the DROS number from your dealer, and use it as the 'STN/NTN' on this form. Be sure and upload any documents you think will help, such as court records or orders.

    Also, see this flowchart http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/a...9&d=1449952768

Lastly, be aware that some old legal issues can turn out to be prohibiting well after they happened. Read this http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013...-45-years-ago/

      Thank you,

Ok so I filled the petition and it says they will respond in 5 days ... I'm counting down. I also went and performed a Live Scan check on myself I want to see what they see - that takes 2 weeks though.

Last Sunday I went and bought the gun again and have another DROS in the works. I'll know something before my pickup day July 27. The reason I did that is because I had 2 car registrations pending during my last 10 day waiting period and I missed the date (1 day - and an extra $60.00) but based on other post I read here I thought it may have had an impact so I figured I would give it a try.

For good or bad I'll have more information to post in a few days .... please direct your good thoughts this way.

It can take 90- 120 days or more for NICS appeal. They are very backlogged. Don't be disappointed if 5 days goes by and you have not heard anything.

In January, the NRA said all NICS appeals were on hold, read here http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/n...ecks/78752774/
