New laws...and Garands

I have no doubt these new laws were written with an eye to limit the most popular modern sporting rifles, specifically the AR. Any thoughts on how they clearly affect the M1 Garand?

The law only affects rifles with features. So featureless AR's aren't AW's. Mini14's aren't AW's. Garand is fixed at 8 rounds, and no detachable mag at all. The enbloc takes care of that. And its featureless. Even if you put a flash suppressor on it it's not detachable mag. So it's not an AW. For now.

That will be a wake up call for all the gun owners who are saying, "who needs an assault weapon go ahead and ban them"

That was AB 1663. However, even that bill specified that an AW "does not have a fixed magazine" which a Garand does have, if any rifle does.

OK now...
