Has the Firearms Policy Coalition ever accomplished anything other than collecting dues, giving good updates by email, and sending petitions to politicians that don't care what we think? Just curious. I am an NRA member, contribute to 2AF and Calguns. Not sure I know what FPC has actually done or is doing now.

I believe the FPC is doing good work. They need to do a MUCH BETTER job telling us what they are doing.
Brandon, that means you. Get your message out there clearly as to what the FPC is all about. You can double your support with a clear message of your goals, resources, and approach.

I'll leave this here.

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat

It isn't clear to me that they've done anything. They're not big players so it's not like they've won big cases but that's not what they aim to be. But I haven't really looked into it.
I'm mainly skeptical of handing money to the "right people" as we call them here. They've just ended up being overconfident and wrong.Comment

Agree to a point. I support them but I think they'd get more support if they prove success, or even attempts, and engage the people they want to support them.I believe the FPC is doing good work. They need to do a MUCH BETTER job telling us what they are doing.

So does mine...and SAF, and others.
I think there is a perception problem with FPC and I still they believe they could be effective as heck if they could prove results.sigpic

Thanks for posting, I guess I'm late to the discussion. I think the video that was posted was about the weirdest video ever and seems to represent how I feel about them... Lots of sinister sounding fear mongering but no process or plan mentioned that makes me feel like they're worth supporting.
If I'm wrong please speak up.
The part that gets me is that they don't need to try that hard to make me freak out about losing our 2A rights. That's a given that I'm pissed and upset. I need to see a path forward. Litigation makes sense to me. Influencing politics makes sense (despite the fact that it's pretty tough in CA with our political climate).
Videos that remind me of a Kubrick movie where something creepy is happening and then the scene suddenly flashes to a guy in a bear suit apparently going down on another dude is just plain weird and unhelpful and doesn't make me want to part with my hard earned cash to support them.Comment

I gave money to FPC in the beginning and received their e mails. So as time goes on I stopped getting e mails. Hmmm....strange. I then went to my spam folder and lo and behold there are all these FPC e mails in my spam folder. Hmmm....strange...I never reported them as spam, click "not spam". Still, the e mails go straight into the spam folder. Click "not spam" again but get the same results. Then I figured out, it wasn't me reporting them as spam but many others reporting it as spam so the filter set up by the host sees them as spam. They are sending out too much stuff and people are just reporting it as spam. If they judiciously sent e mails more than likely they wouldn't just be spam to most. Also, a lot of people like transparency. They want to know if 90% or 10% actually goes to the cause. I for one understand that if you are fighting for the cause full time you have to make your living from the cause. Nothing wrong in that at all. However if those who are making a living from the cause want a new Lear Jet like some televangelist that is a completely different matter. Sorry people giving money shouldn't be paying for that. FPC need to be open and honest, dispel the idea that its just a rip off.Last edited by SWalt; 07-05-2016, 1:29 AM.^^^The above is just an opinion.

"...which from their verbosity, their endless tautologies, their involutions of case within case, and parenthesis within parenthesis, and their multiplied efforts at certainty by saids and aforesaids, by ors and by ands, to make them more plain, do really render them more perplexed and incomprehensible, not only to common readers, but to lawyers themselves.
