Glock needs to step up to the table. Colt, too.

Imagine how many Gen4's would/could be sold. They're missing the big picture.

I'm sorry, I don't think I was clear. I was just stating the LEOs aren't the enemy, the fools in office are. A lot of small minded people could take this the wrong way. It would be nice to see something from glock or any of the big companies.

The big picture is that Glock depends on LE sales. Sixty percent of American LE carry Glock. Glock's performance in the commercial markets is based largely on their success with LE. You will not see an LE ban from Glock any time soon.

Most of the firms I see who are boldly standing up to declare they will not sell to LE don't in fact have a lot of LE sales! It's like taking a stand by refusing to sell to, say, the Russians when you don't export anything anyway.

Companies that depend on LE sales will continue selling to LE. They have investors and employees and have no desire to go out of business.

            Disagree.

Although many LEO's I met support the 2nd amendment, there area some in power who don't. Take a look at this video, right at the beginning you'll see officers standing in the background.

Maybe they have been assigned by their superiors to protect a state senator during a press conference (unlikely, as they are not armed). More likely, they have volunteered/elected to bolster incredibly weak arguments by an anti-gun career politician through their presence.

A LEO who honors the laws he's enforcing on others should not stand idle when the general public is being lied to by a crooked politician as shown in the video. A LEO is regarded a subject matter expert when it comes to guns and gun-related crimes. This is the only reason the politician wanted them to be there.

At any time during the press conference, any of the LEO's could have stepped in and stopped Kevin De Leon from lying. Yet, the officers chose to stand idle and watch Kevin De Leon lie to the public -among other things- about the capacity and perceived dangerous nature of certain guns. "30 rounds in 1/2 second..." You don't need to be a math professor to calculate in your head that this translates into 3600 rounds per minute, about 6 times the rate of fire of our current M60 U.S. standard issue machine gun (maybe our military needs to use "ghost guns" to put an end to ISIS).

Does anybody recognize the LEO's standing in the background in moral support of De Leon? Name, rank, department? I would love to hear from them why they were tolerating the public being lied to on an important topic such as gun control.

Happy 4th of July. May this country once be great again.

dont rely on LEO's to give you passes.. most of them are self serving to their positions.

what would be nice is that companies that make "high cap" magazines stop selling them to LE. shouldn't be too hard since we mere serfs in California can't buy them stop selling them to LE organizations when they order replacements that would include parts too since those are banned here as well.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Blah blah blah, gun companies SHOULD....

Enough with the bull**** calguns "it would be wonderful if this happened and we suddenly had a new powerful ally in the fight"-

That's the same bull$h!7 that calguns members have been pipe-dreaming for years, and it's never happened, it's not going to happen, and all it does is give you a little more opium sleep to escape the nightmare of this opium den.

Well, guess what. We're in hell. It's getting hotter. Thought experiments of organizations *magically* supporting us isn't going to happen.

                        Force.

Create a bad-mouth campaign of targeted companies- let's target Glock, to send a message.

We all boycott, post on social media/their webpages/twitter/everyone at the range/fliers- we increase the heat and create a relentless campaign of public shaming and calling for boycotts and making life terrible until they respond, or ideally, boycott California.

I applaud the effort but think it can be better applied. Look at how much money ammo manufactures are going to lose next year. Cops need ammo too. One large ammo company warning there distributors not to sell to LE might work just as well and be easier to do. They should be a little pissed with the ammo law that just passed. JMO

Somewhat on-topic, waiting for someone to comment that "companies are accountable to shareholders, and are judged by quarterly numbers, they are not crusaders for causes".

You know, like Target (w/ their idiotic and disastrous bathroom crusading). Or Apple (w/ their pocket-fascist CEO crusading against religious freedom and individual liberty when it dares offend his tender sensibilities). Or publishing companies spiking best-selling authors who commit tiny offenses against the Stalinist line on any number of issues.

Or the many companies that, FFS, "banned" the Confederate flag after it appeared in one pic of a crazed murderer (a rare recent mass-killer who didn't have extensive and explicit associations - again none of them important, when mental health was the issue - with socially approved woobies like rainbow flags - Roanoke, local Dem politicos - Tucson, or national Dem politicos - LA crazed cop, and of course the Orlando jihadi).

Or the countless other publicly traded companies who regularly jump on the most idiotic, sometimes offensive bandwagons, in hours, whenever the reigning racist/authoritarian/ignorance-based political culture says "jump!".

Boycotts of CA LE, unfortunately, would be practically very difficult to make effective, for lots of boring reasons, but it's worth noting that "markets!" and "profitability, shareholders!" are determinative when certain causes are being pushed, and utterly disregarded when others are involved.

But it probably makes those offering such explanations feel better about the situation, without any good reason.
