AB1663 for non ar rifles

I'm curious about how this will affect those that have a non ar style rifle. If I'm reading it correctly, anything owned prior to Jan 1, 2001, will not need to be registered?

Saying someone has met that requirement, how do you keep yourself safe while at a range?

1663 is dead for this year, but expect it to be back next year.

If you acquired it before 2001 then it's not eligible to be registered as an assault weapon and would have to be removed from the state or turned in for destruction.
