    AR/AK pistols bought through FFL

If you bought an AR/AK pistol through an FFL, your pistol is registered with the state, so the gov already knows you own it. Since they all have Bullet Buttons, they're either going to have to be registered as "assault weapons" or be converted to top loading.

I have a Kel Tec PLR 16 that was bought through an FFL via SSE back in 2011. It has a custom bullet button, so I'm not sure there's a way to convert it to the new definition of "fixed magazine". I'm likely going to have to register this as an "assault weapon".

Just wanted to make sure owners of pistols that are already registered with the state are aware of this.

If you register it as an AW would you be able to add a stock to it since it's already an AW anyways?

          Let's stop spreading FUD, please.

You will need to convert it to have a "fixed magazine," which is not necessarily top loading (it can be, though).

By top loading, I meant disassembly of the action (most versions I've seen you're pivoting the upper receiver on the front pin), then being able to remove the mag. Knew I shouldn't have said that.

All good. I figured that's what you meant and wasn't trying to bust your balls. It's just that a lot of people don't know any of it and may take it in the literal sense.
