Ca gun owners should follow Wa State willfull gun law breaking of 2014

In the cold and the fog in Olympia on Saturday, thousands gathered to protest Washington State's Initiative 594's restrictions on gun ownership. By Bob Adelmann

The organizer of this event is a genius.

If Brown signs even one unconstitutional gun bill, I can only hope we have somebody with the skill and knowledge to organize one like this here. We have enough gun owners in Ca that we could completely overwhelm them with peaceful civil disobedience, resulting in no Fema padi wagon buses. The tyrants wouldn't be able to do s**t about it.

Uhhg, I guess I can dream.
The left - "You don't need guns. Police will protect you."
Also The Left - "Police are racist and evil and we need to disband them."

I'd love to see somebody like the FPC organize an event like this. They have the reach and voice on social media to get the word out to enough people that it might be effective.

only downside is the distance involved for CA.

to get gun owners to show up to the capital all the way in the Socal region will be tough.

This takes initiative beyond calling and faxing legislators - it requires accepting risks that many folks would rather flee to a new state to avoid.

The question is, if we cannot get 1,000 people to walk into the Capitol to confront legislators face to face,... how will we get 2,000-5,000 to openly flout the law? Burning concealed carry licenses? Loaded open carry? Exchanging or lending firearms in public? Selling, transferring or lending 11+ round mags? Selling ammunition in quantities of 501 rounds or more to whomever you wish to do commerce with?

Who is going to do this?

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat

This is the kind of thing that the NRA should be organizing. They gave the resources, they should be able to do it.

They could probably scrounge together 1000 pro-gun demonstrators just from Northern Calif without needing any Southern California supporters. Arrange for a bus caravan from the Bay Area at least...

That's the thing, without the backing of a group that has massive email lists, and a social media presence to get the word out I think it's bound to stall out.

If Joe Shmoe says "c'mon guys we're doing this" the turnout will be minimal, and the people breaking the law will be risking arrest. If a big org like the NRA/FPC/GOA/CRPA says "we're doing this" then you will get the turnout, and the risk of arrest diminishes considerably.

Unfortunately I don't think the big orgs in CA have the balls to do it. They send me 10 emails a day, asking for money, but I'm skeptical that they'd head up, or get behind something like this.

I guess it couldn't hurt to email the FPC or one of the other groups to ask though.

Edit: At this point we don't even know what laws, if any (wishful thinking) we're dealing with. In all probability it will at the least be a ban of possession of +10 round mags, all guns are now 1 in 30, and ammo restrictions. Until we know what Jerry signs we can't know what it's going to take to publicly break the laws.

Once we see what gets signatures a strategy can be developed. We should know by tonight.
