The premise of our second amendment is to ensure persons living free from tyranny and other threats can have the ability to protect that freedom, their lives and property. In light of this, I had an idea that would be useful to martial artists and firearms trainer entrepreneurs. There is a viable market for training to stop mass shootings by private citizens. For example, One personal security trainer and former CIA officer J. H. carries a concealed handgun and recommends en masse rushing the shooter and eye gouging them if you are unarmed. Suggested names for this type of training course could be "Safety for All", Every town for safety", Moms for safety". I am not an entrepreneur so I hope others can utilize this second amendment concept under the banner of "Safety for All" or similar.

it's a good idea, however, it's gonna take a lot of training and convincing someone to "rush" an assailant wielding an AK in full auto mode.

that training should emphasize escape and evasion as well.

I've told this story before;

A childhood acquaintance of mine is a 9th degree champion karate instructor. We met at the Sherman Oaks Karate Studio in the 1970's where we studied under Chuck Norris, Bob Wall, Ron Phonel.

He was in the parking lot of a Wallmart with his daughter wen he was approached by a man with a gun who demanded his wallet. This guy is capable of killing a person with one blow...and he handed over his wallet.

Even the best Martial Arts instructors know when the odds are against them.

IMHO, the best and only way to deal with an active shooter is to shoot back.

The club in Orlando is a gun free zone. My Florida Concealed Weapons Permit restricts me from carrying in any establishment where alcohol is the primary sold drink. Restaurants are OK as long as you don't drink.

I called Governor Scott and urges him to allow law abiding permit holders to now carry in these "gun free zones".

I think what this proves is that Martial Arts are just too dangerous to allow any civillian to be able to learn.

Right now, lunatics are being trained to attack (or defend against) multiple unarmed or armed people. We have to BAN Martial Arts.

According to FBI statistics you are twice as likely to be killed by hands or fists or feet than by Assault Rifles.

In light of this, we MUST BAN ALL MARTIAL ARTS (including deadly Yoga) at ONCE. We need to GUT and AMEND a bill RIGHT NOW FOR THE CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!

I have a black belt in Shotokan and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I have trained for a long time. You would be surprised on how many tough dudes in each of these two arts do not own guns. It is staggering.

Most martial artists are a one trick pony in their one art. They have no depth.

Yes, I agree with that. But, most people are not heroes and martial artist and will just run to save their own life's instead, human nature.

If you know martial art fairly well and in the right position, one can disarm the shooter in a quick way, but that's on rare occasions.

It's sad that 49 people lost their life to some psycho, but the gov (Obummer) is not gonna left a good crisis go to waste.

I train to be as prepared as I can for whatever life throws at me. I'm not a psychic and can't tell you exactly how I will react in a given situation. What, then, do you expect from untrained people?
