I apologize if my ignorance in politics shows with this question, but it's clear Gavin Newsom will run and be the favorite for the Governor position in 2018. Instead of waiting then to try and rally others against him, is it plausible to start some sort anti-Newsom campaign now? Get on the offense early and convince voters to back someone else?

I don't get what you mean, he's already the huge favorite to win in 2018. Can you elaborate how being preemptive in rallying voters away from him now will help him? Unless you're for Newsom and don't want us to do so?? Lol

Get Tom Selleck to run or something. I don't know. If it's not Newsom it will be some other rabid anti. Maybe it's better that all this anti legislation is happening now while we still have Brown who will surely veto some of them. That might put some it to bed for a little while.

Thanks for the heads up, researched John Moorlach and he's very active on social media like Twitter and Facebook. I like how he stood in front of the committee and opposed SB1446, how he used his mom and WWII as a example. He does a lot of public work and I agree with many of his views. I hope he runs against Gavin Newsom.

Unfortunately, it's easier to kneecap newsom and weaken him so his opponent wins than to run someone just on their merits.

And if you kneecap newsom too early, it will be Villraigosa running for governor, or De Leon. The campaign needs to be rolled out After its too late to wheel in a replacement.

He is guaranteed the election bar some unforeseen event: traffic accident, spouse killing him, horrendous disease, arrest or he might grow a sense of justice and some conscience. I put those in the order of likeliness.
