Email from FPC: Rich people funding newsom ammo bill.

    From the FPC email:

"Additionally, Newsom has been able to convince anti-gun elitists in the Bay Area to come to the table with their seemingly unlimited supply of money. "

I want names. Anyone track who is donating?

I would guess most of the donors are hypocritical (have armed guards carrying stuff like SBRs and subguns) or are agnostic when it comes to 2A. They're probably ladling money on Newsom since they're expecting him to win in 2018, and this is just a way to curry favor with him.

Count on the big name partners at the big VC firms to be on the list, along with the C level and VPs at big tech companies like Facebook, Google, etc.. We already know what side of the bread Zuckerberg is buttered on when it comes to 2A.

$100k is nothing to a partner at one of the Sand Hill firms - if it helps to win brownie points with the Governor and disarms the rabble, it's a win win.

Sadly, they are not hypocrites. They are being cold, calculating, and logical. They've already got armed guards. They don't need a gun for protection. They don't enjoy shooting recreationally. If they have armed guards, and you don't have guns, then they have more power than you. Makes perfect sense to me.

If you are rich enough to afford armed guards, you never have to touch a firearm.

              Anybody you know?

There is there a corresponding opposition registered: California Rifle and Pistol Association Firearms Freedom Committee. Fundraising? Activities?
The last filing was up to 12/31/15, so not current. Don't know what the filing requirements are.

As I recall those who opposed prop 8 with donations were outed ostracized by the gay and lesbian communities. I don't see why we can't do the same for these supporters.

because the media would never report if we did.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

You'd think there would be rich pro gun types in the Bay Area willing to overwhelm those numbers.

                      Or actors even.

It would be interesting to see where Brad Pitt and Angelina(both gun owners and users....) would come down on this.
I'll bet that they aren't even yet aware that this Newsom thing is going on.

Is anyone here aware, if either of these two have ever done anything for the pro-gun movement, BESIDES telling some in the media that they themselves own guns?

They are terrified that it would affect their careers: and let's be 100% honest: it would.

That said, I don't know if they have donated anonymously. IMO they should.

The media will gush over them for joining the "fight against gun violence and gun culture."

In this state, only one set of opinions is welcome.

The list of actors is not that short, actually. Whoppi Goldberg, Bruce Willis, Keanu Reeves.

I've never heard any do anything publicly for the movement.

                              Although Keanu, holy moly.
