What do you guys think about this site? There are several questions at the bottom of the page that makes me hesitate a bit. I just want to run it by here before signing up.

Maybe I missed it - but what is the org doing to counter Newsom's proposals?...

All I saw was fight back by sending money... What are they doing with the money?

They have a facebook page too. You may want to come by and check out. Personally, I don't mind sending them $$ fighting Newsom or any of the anti. However, I don't feel comfortable giving home address, employer ...ect..(which are required by the way) because I don't know what are they gonna do with all that info once the fight is over.

I don't do the FB thing - thanks though.

If they can't be clear on their site - I pass.

Actually, it looks like they are part of the Firearms Policy Coalition, run by prominent CalGuns membes, IIRC. They say that the info is required by law, which I assume is under 501(c) for some types of charitable orgs.

                        Site says:
PAID FOR BY FIREARMS POLICY COALITION SECOND AMENDMENT DEFENSE COMMITTEE
That effort looks like it's being run by FPC (Firearms Policy Coalition). If you trust them, no reason to be wary of signing up. General consensus on the boards is becoming "they don't seem to be effective/can't get a response about specific actions." Of course some others seem to support.

Indeed a project of CRPA and the more useful of the two being discussed in this thread IMO.

All of these efforts probably fall under some "campaign finance laws" since this is an initiative being put forward for the ballot. The employer and occupation questions are necessary because of the type of fund and the way the funds will be used. As opposed to donations to non-profits, which typically do not require much info at all.

There is also an NRA-PVF (Political Victory Fund) floating around. Same questions about employer. Not sure NRA-PVF is specifically devoted to the gruesome initiative, probably more general.

The CRPA is really stepping up in my opinion. I just renewed my membership and sent a little extra to help fight Newsome. I've given to FPC in the past but I couldn't tell you where it went. The NRA, CRPA, Madison Society, GOA, and GOC, are where my money goes now.

I don't know about this one and don't have the time to research it. I wouldn't be surprised to see several "groups" pop-up in opposition to the Initiative and start raising funds.

But I do know that the "Coalition for Civil Liberties" is the group that we (the NRA Members' Councils) are part of. http://www.stoptheammograb.com/
