    Battlezones for gun rights.

Many people in the rest of the country hate California, but from what I see they have the following choices.

    1. Do nothing, of course that will give the green light for Congress to go ahead and enact "Improved Federal Copies of California Laws"

    2. Recognize that if numerous court battles hit across our state and the gun issue expands beyond just gun issues, that many in Congress will want to just sit back and see what happens.

IMHO, the major battlezones will be fought in Orange/LA counties, the SF Bay Area and Sacramento.

As I see it, we are like the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto who stood up against Nazi Tyranny. Those Jews fought bravely, but ultimately they perished because they had no support.

The Polish underground could have helped the Jews, had they done so, perhaps WW2 would have ended sooner, but they didn't even though the NAZI's invaded and occupied their country, they could not overcome their prejudice against the Jews.

We will cause alot of damage and we will make the other side hurt alot. The only question is will the rest of the country step up and help us so that we will have a different ending than the Jews.

The Polish underground was aligned with the Bolsheviks. The Russian army could easily have overrun Warsaw but held back until the Germans had solved the Jewish problem for them.

Best thing for other states to do is to hammer the AG, Assembly leaders', and governor's offices with phone calls, faxes, and emails demanding CCW reciprocity. Out of state college students can demand reciprocity and campus carry. That's the only thing that's in it for them that they can ask for that can be given, but it so happens to be highly desirable of an end for both parties. The NRA and other gun orgs need to prod people all over the country to do this. 40 states' worth of callers should break them sooner or later.

I want to know who will come up with the equivalent of Godwins Law for Godwins Law.

That way we can Godwins Law Godwins Law. Its only right.
Look at the tyranny of party -- at what is called party allegiance, party loyalty -- a snare invented by designing men for selfish purposes -- and which turns voters into chattles, slaves, rabbits, and all the while their masters, and they themselves are shouting rubbish about liberty, independence, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, honestly unconscious of the fantastic contradiction... I believe the Godwin's Law for Godwin's Law is that if you attempt to trigger Godwin's Law intentionally (say by gratuitously mentioning Nazis on a particularly annoying .45 vs. 9mm thread just to kill it) it does not work.

What do you need guns for if you are going to send your children, seven hours a day, 180 days a year to government schools? What do you need the guns for at that point?-- R. C. Sproul, Jr. (unconfirmed)

If someone is going to Godwin a thread, the analogy should at least match if you squint at it. CA gun-rights seem to have some promise of legal success, Gene is certainly confident about Nordyke. That is so very, very unlike the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto. Then there is the fact that the NRA spends way, way more in CA than it brings in, precisely because California laws have an ugly habit of spreading to the free world. People don't know it, but CA gun owners are far from abandoned--I think the NRA works harder in CA than CA gun owners do. :-) Again, so very unlike the Warsaw Jews.

If an analogy of the Hebrew variety is required, perhaps it would be better to mine the richer resources of the Tanach. David vs. Goliath is too obvious--Elijah telling God that he's the last righteous man left, perhaps?

PS: Having ranted, it is so tempting to then turn around and construct an analogy with the Free French resistance vs. the penny-ante Vichy government, which is more my picture of Sacramento gun-banners than the sinister might of the National Socialists, but I'll refrain. Forget Godwin--I'd never get out alive if I likened a bunch of gun owners to the French!

PPS: Why are the roads in France lined with trees? :-)

Removing obstacles to them being able to do so is what brings that time closer. A reason, if highly debatable as to whether it's the reason, is that we as a citizenry are armed and thus making it at very least difficult if not impossible to carry out such an act. It would be absolute hell on Earth for someone to try to do to us what was done then--it would be considerably easier to do to an unarmed society. It's done every day in some parts of the world. Social Slavery numbers, credit cards, and cell phones make people disturbingly easy to locate here.

I got some news for the OP....everyone is fighting some sort of gun rights restriction. CA isn't the only state with a dog in this fight. While most states have more 2A freedoms than CA, we have to fight every day to keep those freedoms. I don't think everyone hates CA. Ya'll are just too sensitive sometimes. Don't worry about what others think, just keep up the good fight and know there are plenty of us on the other side of the fence supporting you. Look at all the out of state dealers willing to work with you.
