If a DROS is started on a handgun, which requires all the exact details (s/n, caliber, etc.), and the handgun was not delivered to buyer on the pickup date for any reason, does the DOJ database presume the DROS'd handgun was delivered after 10 days, or is there a final step the dealer must perform to notify the DOJ of final delivery ?

You have started DROS on a gun but during the 10 day wiating period the ATF raids the shop and confiscates all of the gun's in the store. Also what happens if you have paid for a gun but have not started DROS on it because your previous 30 day handgun wait was not up yet. Is there any chance of ever seeing either of these guns again or are they property of ATF for good?

No, there is no further notice of delivery after the DROS.
