Even IL got better when it comes to guns....

What is the future of California when it comes to gun ownership?

Most states got better. Is there a chance that Ca gun owners with get some of their rights back? How probable is it ?

    I predict, close to never.

California has already crossed over the event horizon in terms of guns. I do not see the roster, CA AW ban, magazine ban, etc. changing in our lifetimes unless the political make-up of our legislature changes.

The fate of the wounded rest in the hands of the ones who apply the first dressing.

Not very likely. The electorate is getting more stupid by the day and they will continue to vote for the clowns that win elections there.

I dont know, I think it will continue to slide more restrictive. We might see the roster go away but I predict that within the next few years they will add all sorts of restrictions to carry permits and increased forfeiture of property such as magazines.

Unfortunately I've noticed a disgusting pattern in restricting our rights especially the 2nd amendment.

        Step 1. Say "Reasonable Restriction"
        Step 2. Say "Public Safety"
        Step 3. Say "Sensitive Places"
Step 4. Say "Dangerous or unusual"

if you mix those phrases around enough in a sort of "anti civil right cocktail" and pour it on unconstitutional BS the legislature or a judge can probably ban anything, anywhere. Listening to Yolo county counsel in Prieto they tried to say that not issuing carry permits was not infringing on the 2nd amendment because people could drive in their car with a locked up, unloaded gun, and then load it at work, and then do the reverse and reload when they get home. Or carry at their friends house, or on their property. And because 85% of the county is rural then its really only a minor inconvenience that they can't carry on a city street or at the grocery store, because that is a reasonable restriction. it was painful to listen too.
just happy to be here. I like talking about better ways to protect ourselves.

Already covered in a recent thread http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1106309

California will eventually end up with the maximum amount of gun control allowed under the Constitution, whatever that looks like. California is already well on the way there.
          Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

CA is not the only state headed in that direction. There are 3 or 4 other states are headed down the same road. The Liberals, if they had their way, would likely want CA to become like NYC when it comes to firearms

At the rate SCOTUS is ignoring Heller, I'm thinking we're just getting started.

I guess I meant to imply that the constitution doesn't allow ANY.

Going to continue to get worse...as long as the majority wants free stuff and trusts the government to protect them more than wanting freedom and paying their own way through life.

It's going to get worse before it gets better. CA politicians will continue to pass ineffective, restrictive gun laws.

SCOTUS will put an end to a lot of the nonsense, but it will take a while.

The next Presidential election matters a lot...

If we get a pro-gun SCOTUS, based on the timelines I've seen so far, we could get a lot of good decisions over the next 20 years. I'd expect CCW, mag capacity, and "AW" worked out during that time.

If a Republican doesn't win the Presidency this next round, and Dems get to appoint... I'd say it'll be a good 20-30 years on top of that before things start to change for the positive.

Either way, I'm out of California in the next 1 to 10 years.

New Jersey has it worse than CA but IMO until the Federal gov starts to come down on these states nothing will change for the better anytime soon.
