HI Ban on Legal Alien Acquisition of Firearms

This case went up to CA9 and was remanded to the District back in March for further proceedings based on Peruta.

The District Judge struck the ban based on strict scrutiny of the 14th Amendment and on 2nd Amendment claim, independent of the level of scrutiny applied to the 14th Amendment claim.

MSJ was released 9.17.14. Permanent injunction against the statute was ordered.
