We shall see. Universal vote-by-mail states such as California can generate all the ballots they would like, but swing states have better election monitoring than in 2020.

I understand individually, we are mere spectators. We shall see.

The fight has raged since the Roberti-Roos Assault Weapons Control Act passed in 1989! Yet, in 2024, the laws remain in force, have expanded to cover more firearms, and have spread to thirteen additional states.

The whole situation is absolutely f*cking infuriating.

Since Roberti-Roos, SB-23 (features), Kasler, modified by Harrott. California gun owners have been thumbing their noses at California anti-gunners. After Y2K we thought getting AR pattern rifles was dead. Then the whole OLL came to light. Even today, you can buy an AR pattern rifle in California. Do I wish we didn't have to jump through hoops like we do? Sure. But every time the anti's think they have won, we come back with a new idea. Hell, look at the Sig MCX-Regulator. Another big FU to the anti's.

I am aware of various workarounds such as featureless builds and the AR MagLock. Nonetheless, assault weapons legislation gets more robust each iteration. For example, the Washington ban has rendered AR-style firearms extremely difficult to lawfully acquire in the state.

The Supreme Court needs to act.?

Washington, New York, Illinois, etc. The big anti gun groups writing their AWB/LCM-B, have seen what we did in California. Their new laws strike down our work around's. Look how long it took for California to ban Bullet Button ARs. I think a lot of California anti's in the legislature, think "Haven't we already done this"? It may be harder to get minor AWB changes, compared to a whole new law. Do they want to waste Political capital on minor changes? Our lobbyists might ask them, "do you want to end up out of office like Portantio"?

Legislatures, even full-time ones, possess limited bandwidth and floor time. Representatives often can only push a certain number of pet bills through committees each session, so expending valuable resources on minor amendments to existing gun control laws does not appeal to many.
