    Definitely recommend spall guards in addition to build up coating. In all fairness I want to re-test this with maybe the plates in a carrier, as well as using PE and ceramic

    Right? Looks like knee pad foam. There is not a one aramid fiber layer there. Even actual FLEX SEAL stops some spall (better than those pictures). I saw it on YOUTUBE so I know it is true hahahah.

    Spall on Steel can be mitigated. Steel is too heavy. Steel is not a great option nowadays. Steel DOES hold up well. Personally I'd rather have redundant composite setups. Some may still choose steel. YMMV. IMHO. Definitely no need to call people names or get riled up.

    Yep I thought the same. Looks more like trauma pad glued to it then shot. Of course it gets destroyed like that. No spall buildup coating videos look like that... DIY is not the way to go.
