Bear Medicine..... 308? 45/70 ? other ??

A few months back my dads got the green light from DFG to take out the Bear thats breaking into his house. Its an on going situation that peaked last year. He is fed up. The DFG is tired of it too. The DFG said there is such a long history with this bear that nobody will think twice about it being put down. Its been tagged & moved twice, and now hes not so easily captured.

My dad told me to purchase the "needed tools"... and he would pay for em. So.....Id like a powerful semi auto that can pump large amounts of lead into this creature. Price is not a real consideration.....kinda, but not really.

AR or M14 in 308 ?
Lever 45-70 ?
Or 12g slug if coming thru window....again....

These are the only options that Ive considered. What else do you guys think I should be looking at ?

No need to go overboard and spend a lot of money. Buy an inexpensive 30.06 bolt action and load it with 180 Nosler Partitians, aim straight and pull the trigger. One well placed shot is worth a lot more than spraying around a lot of lead with a semi-auto. You don't need a cannon to kill a black bear. It's not the firearm, its the shooter. Remember, it's just a bear, it's not Godzilla.

My vote is either a m-16 with the grenade launcher ( that there jacked up a dinosaur in an old movie I once saw) or a turret mounted GAU-8 30mm cannon.

Turret mounted? If you can't hold it you obviously shouldn't be hunting bears and definitely need to hit the gym.
