    Little Dry Creek finally!

Finally got a LDC reservation! Any recommendations or useful tips? I've never been out there before. My resi number is between 10 and 18. Thanks, guys. Also, I already have 2 buddies who are more than happy to go, hah. Appreciate the help. I'll definitely report back if anyone cares.

between 10 and 18 is a big difference. 10 is a definite blind. 18 is probably free roam. 15 you can still get a pretty good blind if there are some no shows. I'd go planning on a blind but prepared for freeroam.

How do you figure? There are 19 blinds at LDC and 18 resis. They designed it that way so there is at least one blind available for the #1 lottery winner. Unless something changed that I don't know about.

I figure that by there are about 10 blinds that are consistently good shooters...5 more that are good with weather and 3 that I would never take. Areas in freeroam will do as good as any top 10 blind.

So like I said...if his number is 15 and below a good blind is almost a certainty. If I had 18 there would need to be a few no shows for me to take a blind.

I wasn't saying he couldn't get a blind at 18 but that he would be freeroaming...if he didn't freeroam it would be dumb...

So there is a HUGE difference between 10 and 18....if I have 10 I won't even plan on freeroam as an option. If I have 15 I'm probably going free roam unless there's a few no shows. If I have 18 I'm pretty certain I'm going free roam and would consider myself very lucky to get a decent blind.

If I remember right DO NOT take blind 5. Terrible. 1-10 are all fantastic with the exception of 5. I can't remember all the numbers without looking at maps but I think the 13's were decent. I'll see if I can find an old map and at least tell you which ones to not go to. I do know that if any 1-10 is available take it...except for 5.

I'm guessing LDC keeps stats at the check station on the individual blinds? I know those aren't always the absolute best thing to use, but for a guy who has never been and at this point in the season (where some of the good and bad shooters kind of 'even out' and get better averages for comparison), I think I'll be forced to go off of those. I am taking a guy that has hunted it before and also knows some guys that go there fairly often, so hoping I can avoid the big mistakes that are easy to make when you go to a place for the first time.

Yes absolutely...even though I know the place I always use the kill sheets. Don't just look at one days worth of data. Go through the kill sheets and use your brain. Its easy to tell which blinds are consistent shooters. The only variable is usually weather.
