my boat, your duck hunting spot in the delta

Been hearing about duck hunting allot lately. I've always wanted to duck hunt, but I don't know anyone who does, not really sure where to go, and which ducks you can shoot at.
I had a thought. .since I have a boat, and if someone knows of spots in the delta to duck hunt, we can combine our resources and go hunting!

I have a 22' open bow boat. I'm not even sure it would be suited for duck hunting. .. but if someone's who's got experience is willing to give it a try, I'm all for it!

PM me if anyone is interested. . Also let me know if this is a crazy idea!!

A 22' foot open bow boat is pretty much unusable in the delta.....you may be able to chase divers if you had enough camo netting to cover your boat and create a hide.

Flat bottoms with a normal outboard can get you most places....if you had a mud motor you can get almost anywhere.

Not only that but most guys with spots on the delta have access to a boat considering in order to have spots on the delta you need to have a boat.

I could give you some great starting points but even though I live out of state I would be hard pressed to give up some of my old holes.....even if I gave you some of my spots you would be SOL with that boat.

    Good luck

Thanks for your insite. ..I wasn't sure/not sure where I would start, and apparently my boat would be useless!

If you have a boat why not hunt the bay?

Well for 2 reasons. ....1, I don't know where to go, and 2, funny as it sound, I've never been in the bay with my boat, only lake's and delta. ..

If its a 22' open bow fiberglass I would not reccomend hunting the bay unless you are familiar with tides and the sand bars.

I had one friend that had a huge camo net for his 20 foot aluminum deep v and he did ok on divers. He'll want to hunt the points which is impossible if its fiber glass. Otherwise he'll need a ton of decoys in the bay.

Know the rules before you go duck hunting on the Delta. Depending on where you're planning to go also be prepared for some boat traffic from weekend bass tournaments.
