Hunting license not in possession, consequences?

So I haven't been hunting in 7 years.

I dug out my old licenses and got a new one Friday because I was invited dove hunting and have been getting back into shooting/Hunting

Mom was in town for her class reunion and I left my wallet in her car when we all went on a hike. She is 180 miles away now

If I go dove hunting tomorrow and don't have my license on me what can happen?

I don't have any thing this really sucks!

Loose your gun, loose your birds, loose your truck. Or, at least risk loosing all of it. It's not hard to get a duplicate license or, better yet, go get your wallet with your photo ID and hunting license in it.

Sportsmans was closed.. on my way to wallmart I hope it's in the system from Friday I was told they can use your driver license number now.

Easy. With the new system all u need to show is your drivers lic. Pay for dupe and you are GTG.

Don't ever get caught without one! I went fishing with a friend and when we got to the damn I realized my license was at home in the envelope that just arrived from DFG. I chose to leave my gear and just tag along because you never know... Sure as s*@#$! Here comes Mr. Green pants as soon as we return to our trucks. First in forever and glad I chose to go by the book because it is clearly written! NEVER go without it! Hunting or Fishing...period! Know what I mean?

I haven't had the same experience, but I always get the feeling that the ONE DAY you're not properly prepared, is the day Mr. Murphy comes and shoves a flaming cactus up your ***.

I figured I would ask the new computer system license is new to me so I didn't know if they might be running them like driver's licenses these days also.

I knew they didn't mess around but really, if it's not in your immediate possession they will seize all your stuff, even if you DO have one?? With fishing too?

Something I did a lot was go ab diving having forgot my fishing license, but brought my ab tag. Now it says right on it, "only valid in posession of CA fishing license" but in order to get an ab tag you need a fishing license so wtf?

I've gotten stopped and the warden didn't seem to mind not having my fishing license. To me that obviously covers you having a fishing license, much like a deer tag, sturgeon card etc. Wonder if they really would seize your stuff in that situation.

I've been stopped without my fishing license hiking to spearfishing spots. They just run your name and verify. I've seen a guy get ticketed for not having his on him. Was 125$ for a fishing license. Think it's worse for a hunting license.

Incorrect. You can get report cards without getting a fishing license, so that you can fish on the free fishing days.

Maybe for fish but I believe abalone do not count on free fish day. Pretty sure I read that you still need a license somewhere.
