    Pig hunt recommendations...

I'd like to get my feet wet with my son (23yr. old) on a guided pig hunt. I've been reading on here and doing Google searches. The amount of private ranches is a little overwhelming. I was looking for something in the Central CA area. Don't want to travel to Northern CA on our first outing. Something with lodging on the premises.

I'd like to hear from those that have did something like this and could recommend a good ranch/guided hunt. Thanks for any help!

Use Shay (BigBoarStopper). Haven't used him yet, but he was kind enough to spend over 30 minutes on phone explaining his outfit. Hell of a nice guy, and he comes highly recommend both here, and over at Jessie's. I plan on using him next year if I can gather the funds.

Try Oakstone Outfitters out of the central ca coast. Here is a link to their page. The owner is a good guy. He also does taxidermy if you kill something you want mounted. http://oakstoneoutfitters.com/packages/

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Do you guys know of any more SoCal centered places to hunt pigs? Or is it worth the drive to get better pigs? This will be my first time I will do real hunting ever

Uh you may want to look into Big Horn Canyon Ranch. It's not real hunting as the pigs are planted but it can be as difficult as you want it to be.

If you've never been before it's not a bad way to get into the sport I guess.

There was a very recent thread with somebody in your exact shoes (or close) so search for it as he was in socal as well.
