I was trying to download the 2014 hunting digest from the DFW website. Apparently everyone else waits until the last minute to submit their deer tag applications like I do because the website was brought to its knees. It looks like the traffic jam has cleared up now because I was just able to download said digest.

So - please clue this noob in...... Why do you need the hunting digest to apply for tags?

I applied for my first ever tags a few days ago online, and printed them out.......... is there something I need the book for? Am I missing a step?

As a first timer also, I understand the desire for the digest. The drawing isn't exactly intuitive, & you don't want to short change yourself. I thought messed mine up, so I emailed CDFW last night to make sure.

The outage last night must not have affected too many people since they've already emailed me back to confirm my selections.
