Black antlers!Originally posted by rootuserThere are too many in this forum that do nothing. Don't vote, don't belong to the NRA, don't donate time and or money, etc etc so the anti-gun bills will just keep coming and coming. You are right. Us doing nothing at all won't help.Comment

Next year. Ive read deer will move back into a fire as soon as its over to escape insects, etc. No firsthand knowledge of this.

Scouting or hunting burned areas can be very informative. Active game trails are easily spotted from long distances using field glasses from the disturbance to the ash. It can tell you a lot about animal movement and use of an area. The cleared ground clutter and reduced brush can make finding the animals much easier. On the other hand it often makes the stalk much more difficult._______________________________________

It is true that deer and other animals will frequent the burn area and roll in the ashes to get the ticks and other insects off of them. The question comes down to timing of the fire and when deer season begins. Throw in wether or not fish and wildlife or the feds will close the area because I fire danger. The way I see it is that fires are mother natures way of cleaning herself. It provides new growth for plants and trees in the future, along with food for the animals.Comment

I have thought that a year or two after a fire is the best.http://govnews.ca.gov/gov39mail/mail.php

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.
