Personally, I prefer Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington for Bass and Trout. Crappies are pretty damn good too up there
Dear ISIS, Texas is not known for their gun free zones.

You know Shasta Lake has been ranked in the top 5 Lakes for Bass the last couple of years.

Just the nice thing about fishing in Texas
I can throw the AK and a 12ga in the boat and open carry a pistol
No one is going to freak and have a heart attack

I've fished in Texas many times, been to Lake Fork when everyone is going hog wild about "the span", selling "the spawn t-shirts" on the side of the road, etc. People literally freaking out about trying to catch a double digit bass. Truthfully, I feel we have better largemouth fisheries here in Kali. If you know how to fish the Delta it can be one of the best places in the USA to fish for bass bar none. Shasta and Oroville are fun to fish (mostly spots and smallies) but you'll never get the amount of 30+# limits that you can on the Delta, BTW 40# Delta limits are not unheard of. Clear Lake can be pronominal as well but it can be hot or cold. In Kali I only fish for largemouth in the northern half of the state but I'm sure the guys down south will say the same of many of the lakes down there. Now if one's talking about river fishing for smallies, that's a different story.

But I can buy a lakefront house with a dock for just over $200k here in Texas and that is on a acre of land.

Got it, your thread was a little confusing, I thought you were listing "Hot Bass Spots in Texas" as in fishing spots. Good luck!
