    lead bullet ban

    are they really going to implement that ban statewide? Any chance the NRA can stop it?

    hunting regulations are seldom challenged

    ban is such a strong word its just a moratorium on use for taking game

      I think they took a huge bite and can't swallow.

      There's a real chance that the requirement would effectively cause California hunters to violate Federal law regarding armor piercing ammo.

      If that's the case, the only other options are to end hunting (already a 2nd Amendment no no), or don't let the law take effect.

        I doubt that. Solid copper bullets have existed for decades. They are not considered AP ammo.

            i think the federal reg.'s concerning ap ammo refer only to pistol ammo don't they?

              If I remember correctly, it's up to the discretion of DFG board whether they implement it or not.

                sure messes up plans to purchase reloading supplies, I have some Amax bullets I want to work up a load on uuugh.

                  The ATF has not ruled on copper bullets yet and may not ever but it's considered an AP alloy.

                  If this law goes thru it won't be for a few years I say don't worry and shoot lead.
