Lions are illegal to hunt in this state. If it was killing livestock it can be killed via a depredation permit. Most of the cats killed off depredation permits are killed by federal wildlife services guys who kill way more per year than were ever killed by legal hunting. Also lions killed off depredation permits are eventualy incinerated wasting the whole animal

So hunting = income to the state, use of meat and hide from animal. Since hunting was banned more animals are killed at a cost to the state and meat and hide are burnt to ashes.

          Makes sense.
So does the OP's post about the old lion gumming the cows to death.

Dont know how it would be measured to be a record anyways. Cat records go by a dry skull measurement. Thought DFW does a quick necropsy then throws them in a freezer to be incinerated later.

Stand far enough behind an ant and take a picture at it's level and it can look huge!

There is nothing in the lions same plane that you can use to accurately guess it's size. For all we know that lion weighs 90lbs. The best judge of size I see are the pine needles on the ground, and the pine needles look gigantic compared to the cat!

Yes Chico and if you look at its head and paws it has to be either a young one with forced perspective or photo shopped. Also, the pine needles behind the guy look teeny in comparison to the ones up front. My bet is the guy is 5+ feet in back of the cat. There are prob bigger bobcats.

I remember seeing a pic taken of a (seemingly) absolutely huge hog on here, that was 200 lbs. My 250 lb sow looked half the size, until you saw how the forced perspective was done. But all people here said was wow! thats huge!

People are stupid, my brother fooled a few people with the pic in my sig. He is standing about 20-30 feet behind a 150 lber

                    Seems legit...

This is public land, we're not hunting, we're hiking with guns. There are no deer or pigs on public land

The cats head defiantly looks out of proportion. It appears to be almost as large as a female African cat head.

That's a Eurasian Giant Cat. In that country, private firearms ownership is illegal, so they put the mosin away and hold up rocks for the photos.

                            Yeah, that picture looks suspicious.

Had a guy who was a commercial salmon fisherman look at two pictures of a salmon I caught to judge its weight.
When I was holding the fish he guessed 18 pounds and when my wife was holding the fish he guessed 34 pounds. The fish was scaled at 28 pounds. My wife is heading out for lunch and I am heading out for Jenny Craig.

The photo is making the rounds on the internet. Its also claiming to be from Ukiah Oregon not Ukiah, Ca.
