Hunting Wednesday you choose where I'm going.

I've got Wednesday off work and I'm willing to travel. I'm tired of spoonies and teal at los banos area. So I think I'm gonna head up north and try to get on some big birds. Anyone recommend a refuge.
Disclaimer: I'm not asking for spots, just which refuge to try, have you guys been hearing one is shooting better than others.

The refuges are slow too. If you're getting teal, id stick with it. With a 2 bird average i don't know if i would go north.

I hear ya. The last couple weekends we were lucky to take one hen spoon and a drake greenwing. I had a buddy shoot culusa last week and he claims that if they weren't hungover and could shoot strait they would have had limits. Still left with a couple gads and wigeon.
I may end up lottery at little dry creek. And if doesn't work out I'm gonna sleep in and rest my body. It was a long weekend of football and coors light.

I ended up staying fairly local and hunted San Luis refuge. We ened up with 10 green wing teal 8 of which were drakes. It was on fire with wave after wave coming thru till around 8 when they stopped flying. We could have limited in 20-30 mins if either of us were shooting straight. Best duck shoot of the season for me and it was nice to get my pup out there working and actually have something for him to retrieve.
