As far as best bang for the buck the best places are ones that dont advertise and nobody has ever heard of. A lot of outfitters that do the sportsshows are selling a LOT of hunts. Sure they have great pictures, if you take 85 hunters a year you are bound to kill a few nice animals. And some of those guys are still using pics from the 80s.

If I was going out of state elk.......rifle horseback hunt or an archery rut........you may have to add some cash but it doesn't get any better than that for elk.

You may want to get a hunting fool mag membership they have great info on hunts guides and tags

Yeah, that makes complete sense. Unfortunately for people like me, we have to base most of our choices on those types of people simply because we don't know the right people and don't have the time to put in a lot of the work ourselves.

I'm seeing black bear hunts for around $2,000 on average, blacktail for $4-5,000 on average and elk ranging from $5,000 to well over $15,000.

Most of the good blacktail hunts will already be booked for the year. I do have a good ranch for bears but the rancher is out of cell coverage at the moment. As soon as he gets back to me I will let you know.
