Anyone going to the SCI in Las Vegas next month?

My wife said out of nowhere yesterday "what do you think about going to Vegas in a few weeks?" I know the convention is at the Mandalay Bay. I haven't been in years, but am thinking of hitting it up.

I am going. Paid for my SCI fees, hotel and plane ticket a couple months ago.
    Should be fun.

Me too, I've never been to the Vegas show....I believe SCI signed a multi-year deal with Mandalay Bay.

Lots of cool hunts in the auction. Do they usually go for more than the listed value?

Depends on the hunt really, and who the guide is......there was a time when spring bear hunts in the north west went for cheap.....but that was quite a few years ago

                SCI convention

Heading to Vegas at the SCI convention on Feb. 5th to meet my PH, who will be guiding myself and hunting partner in July, on a South African plains game hunt. Should be fun.

The amount of arm candy and the price of the toys and hunts were definitely an eye opener WOW. Cant wait for next year. Im definitely going to have to go for more than 1 day so I can sit in on some of the lectures.

I went for the whole show. I went to the last dinner/auction as someone gave me a ticket.
Most of the stuff did not sell high at the auction.
I was able to get some bullets that I cannot seem to get here.
                      Enjoyed the displays etc.
Put some names with faces from another forum I am on that had a met and greet nite.
Went to some of the seminairs(sp) which most were good.
                      Met some TV/writer personallies(sp)/industry people.
Brought home a bunch of advertising stuff.
I saw a bunch of really nice firearms and related equipment.

All over I had a good time.

                      Did not gamble at all.

Those are fair prices. Trophys seem small at only 9ft avg.

I saw some 10' + when I was there. I really dont know a lot about brown bears I just know Frank is a good dude. Also I saw a lot of bears there, saw several a day. Ive talked to a few guys that have come back empty handed on Alaskan bear hunts or made multiple trips for one. I should know in a couple weeks if i drew sheep or goat. But whoever you choose good luck and post some pics. I wasnt hunting my friend was but the brown bear hunt was one of the most exciting I have ever been on.
