Deer Hunt with 300Blk *Warning, Bloody*

Okay, I know someone will flame so :Flamesuit on: But this was my hunt for CA this year. Im still editing and making music for it but its out there.

Honestly I took two shots because I wasn't too sure about the capability of the 300blk but after seeing this Im pretty happy with the results.

This is the damage it caused... Pretty happy about it. Damaged everything on the shoulder and ribs. Lost some good meat.

Mif, you have enough experience to use what ever you want to take a deer. You know the limitations of the round, you have enough experience to control any "buck fever" if it were to raise its head, and you know shot placement. (except for the gut shot, ewww did the stomach open up?)

Most here just don't advise it for new guys who have no idea what they are doing in the field and have no way to judge the effective range with no past experience to judge it by.

      Nice vid, good kill.

Nice deer. I was hoping to get a deer this season with the blackout as well but never got an opportunity. I used mine a lot for predator/fur bearer hunting and it creates a good deal of carnage. So much so I don't really use it anymore on things I want to save the pelts for. I have only used the 115 gr TTSX bullets for the blackout so far buy am very happy with their accuracy.

Thanks for your kind words. I still have a lot to learn and I learn new things from you guys every day. Thanks for that too.

As for the gut shot.....the bullet actually went right between intestines so I was lucky no headache/spoiled meat when gutting.

How do you like wearing the game ears? I've known a couple guys who wore them but it was b/c they were pretty deaf without them.

Great video, congrats on the successful hunt. And nice Pistol by the way.

You mentioned editing and adding music to the video, just putting a vote up to not add music, the beauty of hunting videos is hearing all the natural sounds that go along with it.

I say congrats on the deer.

But I don't know why you would post a video of a deer that you shot while it was facing with its back turned towards you, it wasn’t even quartering away. That is a shot that I resist with a rifle, if that was the only shot I would have shot it in the back of the neck. It looks like you gut shot it and the second shot missed? I'm not flaming because I have videos like that too but I don't share them.
Anyway I hope no new hunters are sold on shooting that type of firearm at a deer, but that is my opinion, heck I was on a mission to kill yotes with the 17 hmr. and I did. I did it more than a few times, but I will never tell how many coyotes I never found.

Tony, he hit it twice. One in the shoulder and again as it took off in the gut.

BTW guys that was a pistol he was using.

Not sure by looking at the video. Maybe thats why he needed a follow up. Mif has shown plenty of kills here so i'm not inclined to question him on it.
