    2nd tag filled

Got the second antelope, Pulled a stupid move, read this as do not do this! Second doe was about 125 away, put my sights on her and bam, she takes off. So I follow her and give about a foot and a half lead boom, blow out both back legs. Ended up putting her out with second shot. Now I felt like crap for rushing a crap and crippling an animal. I should of refrained but was in the moment.
It was also freaking cold. Wind kicked in and was probably in the low teens. Camel back froze almost completely up. You take you gloves off to do fine motor things an poof instant stinging.

How are you liking the barnes in that .243? Wifey was shooting a .243 with 95 gr Fusions and whacked the stuffing out of two big does. One of them got hit and crumpled straight down, all 4 legs tucked beneath her.
The Barnes VorTx 80 gr TTSX worked great, as a fluke they are .75 MOA out of my rem 700. Granted both my antelope were at around 125 yards, so there's a ton of energy still.. I cannot complain , they did exactly what the were supposed to do. The first 'lope dropped like a sack of potatoes, the second well Read the above post for a better explanation.

I can't recall if I asked you before but what unit and where is it near? OTC doe tags?
Up in Buffalo, Wy. Units 102 for antelope, 27 for whitetail, fingers crossed whitetail have been really slim this year. We see them, just on other ranchers properties. May end up (with help of current landowner) asking neighbors for permission. I really would like a whitetail.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

Don't feel to bad about that 2nd doe. It's tough to hunt upside down . . .

That's a good one to start the morning. Have to redo it on a PC, the IPhone just doesn't cut it.

Buddy got his second antelope this morning. Wasn't picture worthy, really gory head shot. Now to fill the whitetail tags. Got another cold front and weather coming in, been in the upper 20's all day.

I've had really good luck knocking on doors and getting permission from ranchers and land owners in Wyoming. If you explain you are hunting doe whitetail (if you are hunting doe whitetail, which are almost universally hated as much as antelope) often times people are more than happen to let you on. I hope it works out well for you. Other than that, you might still be able to find leftover tags and HMA access in other hunt areas if you don't mind driving.

Good to hear, I was a little worried about the shooting a TSX on such slightly built animals such as antelope, sounds like they are working well though.

I'm here in Cody right now deer hunting. Shot a forkie the other day and my dad shot a 3X3 with 25 1/2 spread. Now just have to fill my brothers tag. Then get 3 doe.
Good friends will come bail you out of jail. A best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying damn that was fun!

Came across a few white tail on property today. Couple of nice sized bucks and some doe. Then poof the opportunity vanished when a local was walking her dogs and spooked them. Oh,well that's hunting. Try again tomorrow.

                            One whitetail down

My buddy got the first whitetail this morning. This one was STUPID! While all if the others bolted for freedom ( non hunting property) this one went about fifteen feet and stopped. Boom! One shot from a 6.5 swede and she was out. My turn tonight and then the trip back home.
