    What'd your deer weigh?

I took mine to the locker yesterday to hang a few days before cutting and was surprised when the butcher weighed it at 96lbs fully dressed (no guts, head, skin, or ankels, don't know what to call the bottom of the legs).
I've heard people say that fully dressed they are about 2/3 of their original weight, is that right?

    Anyway 96 pounds hanging.

Mine was 95. I also got a fork I didn't bother to way that was less. I don't know about the 2/3 thing but that sounds about right.

mid 90's to 100 is about average for a mature deer in my neck of the woods. I've seen them go as high as 120 but that's a big black tail.

I have no experience with the mountain mule's but I'm assuming they can get much bigger.

Mature Whitetails in NY will usually tip the scales at 170-200 with some bigger weighing over 200.....however many bucks will get shot in the 140's just depends on the hunters.

My first Blacktail this year was 100 pounds field dressed. My second was 119 field dressed. 120# is a big deer in the area where I hunt, near Boonville, Ca. The heaviest I've ever witnessed come off the ranch was 140# field dressed.

I can see this thread going the route of fishing tales.

Both Wyoming antelope hit at 70lbs. Might as well weighed in at 1k after dragging the 3 miles to the road.
We'll just give them the 'ol number 6.

My 2008 fork was hanging at the butcher at 78lbs. My 2011 velvet monster was hanging at 128 lbs. I had the biggest deer of the season at Swingles meat in Jackson, until the last week of the season someone brought in an xzone muley at 175ish lbs.

I usually hunt in clubs with around 20 members and have measured several hundred bucks as we scale everything.
They run from just under 50 pounds to around 94 pounds with most close to 70 pounds in sonoma county.
We have killed a few really large bucks but ready to go to the butcher they are much lighter.

My D-5 3x3 weighed 95 lbs. on the scale at the meat processor. The guy behind me shot a 4x4 that weighed 105. The body definitely appeared bigger hanging side by side but it looked like a shoulder was missing on the guys 4x4.

81 lbs hanging and ~108 lbs live weight. Most bucks are around 100-120 lbs in my neck of the woods.
This is public land, we're not hunting, we're hiking with guns. There are no deer or pigs on public land

This year my wife's 4x4 was 97lb with a front leg missing and my 3x3 was 85 with all of his legs and yes she reminds me often
The best part of hunting and fishing was the thinking about going and the talking about it after you got back
