    Opening Season for Quails

this pass weekend went up to Paso Robles, just east of Camp Roberts to hunt quails, wow what a disappointment, the area was so dry, we were afraid to kick a rock in fear of creating a spark, and than a fire haha. Yeah no birds, well few more weeks it Pheasant Season, lets see how that goes. Good luck happy hunters.

Only got 2 where we destroyed them last year, too damn hot. Saw 2 coveys of 30-40 that's it. Last year there were hundreds, but I also went later in the year like mid November.

I went out yesterday to a place that normally produces a lot of birds. Unfortunately, we only busted one small covey. I know I'm saying this after one short hunting trip, but I'm thinking that our current drought has been tough on the quail.

+1. I went out to a couple of my hot spots for birds and found absolutely nothing at all. I was disappointed to say the least.
