    Hunting on BLM land

I'm new to the forum so I'm not sure if this has been asked before. I hunt with my sighthounds and also carry a gun. Is hunting season for jacks year round in California? Also, do you folks know of any safe BLM land (loaded with jacks) in California? I'm willing to go to Nevada if needed. Please advise! Thanks Kim

Jackrabbits can be found just about anywhere where there is open dry ground with ample cover and feed. Jackrabbits are open year round. They are considered non-game.

Jacks are Small-Game and year round with no limit. Just need a CA license. Some areas are shotgun only. Every piece of BLM I've hunted has had Jacks on it.
Because they are Small-Game, Wanton Waste laws apply and you cant just kill them and leave them in the field
