    Official 2013 Duck hunting thread

Pretty sure this hasn't been started. Today hunted a grasslands refuge for 6 mallards one of which was banded and a wood duck. My partner closed out with all 7 mallards. We were done at 815. Heard Grizzly and Howard Slough shot very poor today.

Was out by San Jacinto this morning, at exactly 30 min prior to sunup it sounded like a war zone for a good 5 minutes, mustve been a lot out of there today

We were near the very back of the line at Mendota a little past the boat launch. Left at 10am, that's how many birds was out there . 1 pintail, 3 teals, 3 shovler.

went to Wister and as usual on sweat line didn't get out until 945 limited out on a mix of teal, pintail, spoony and one drake mallard that was way up there dropped him dead with one shot. I finished in about 2.5 hours today.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Huh?? All the fed refuges were open with the exception of South Frietas because of road work.

Here's the opener pictures.....notice the eclipse drake mallard....check station staff wouldn't accept that it was a drake...seems like if they work at a check station they should know bird identification.

Sac NWR area was pretty slow in my opinion. 2 gadwall and a wideon for both days.

Grizzley was ok in the right parking lots. Blinds shot crappy but we did lot 4 and it was awesome got a bag of various teal; greenwing and cinnamon. Was a lot of fun except the pond from hell we hunted was the kind grizzley is infamous for: one step and you're ankle deep and the next you sink in up to your chest. Getting the decoys after the hunt sucked.

Saturday was my first day hunting. SWR was really slow. I didn't even get on until like 2. But, I got a hen widgeon!!! I was so excited. Also, got a couple of shots at some specs.
