    Hip Waders/Boots

Any suggested brands to look for in hip waders/boots? I've been looking at Caddis Northern Guide hip boots. Any experience with this brand?

What do you want to use them for and where?

Fishing. So Cal streams that usually are ankle to knee deep.

I've always used LaCrosse for duck waders and wouldn't hesitate to buy from them for trout and stream waders. Good quality and fit at a good price point. Hodgeman is another brand I've used a lot. Up here in NorCal though we almost always use chest waders as some of the streams can drop right off and its nice to stay dry when bending over or kneeling to get a larger fish like a steelhead.

I haven't used them for fishing but I really like breathable waders for California's temperate climate. Granted they aren't for standing waste deep in a cold stream necessarily but way more comfortable if you have to walk any distance. I have a pair of breathable hip waders but in two years I've never used them.

I have some Hodgman waders with the built in felt bottom boots that I got from Bass Pro - They work great. I used them this summer in the Sierras, and they weren't too warm. I also just used them two weekends ago fishing above Bishop in the FREEZING water. I was fine as long as I wore long underwear and wool socks.
