    Bear season

General rifle starts tomorrow. I came up empty last year but then again I only put in one day in big bear after deer hunting that morning. I'm out in corona and plan to get out there some more this year. Anyone ever had luck in the D19 zone or recommend a good area? I know people don't like to share their yote holes or deer but bear populations up pretty good so was hoping for a couple helpful hints or PMs if specifics and don't want it all over the interwebz. Thanks for any input.

Edit: looking for southern Cali btw. I know you guys up north have it better.

Might be a little late. But I think we where at d5 on Spicer resuvoir. There is a gravel road off the main road where the road takes a sharp right the gravel road continues straight off the turn 1 miledown left side did not have a shot he just ran past us but he was a big guy. The turn is near the end of the paved road heading to Spicer.

There's no bear hunting allowed in D-19. D-11 & D-14 are as far south as you can hunt bear in the state.

Hadn't really looked as for area allowed yet. Just thought I'd ask since I had a d19 deer tag but thanks for that info. I've got land out there backed up to (public land) that I shoot on so just picked up a tag for that region and figured I'd start exploring. I did look at last years bear numbers and noticed nothing for that region, explains that.
