Who wants to go hunting?

My normal hunting partner doesn't have a lot of time this summer and need to do some pig hunting as well as some scouting for deer.

I am trying to plan a pig hunting trip to the Los Padres National forest, this will be my first time going, but I have had some experience with pig hunting at Fort Hunter Liggett and got a free youth hunt at Canada de los Osos. I have never been successful. I would like to go sometime in the next month on a weekend, though later is fine. I can do a weekday trip after July 13

Requirements:

Hunting License and tag
no experience required
ammo
Hard working (carrying out game on our backs or dragging)
Some essential gear (pm for details)
Very safe

I have a 2011 pig tag that expires in June and want to hopefully use it! I'm thinking a day trip or leave friday evening, camp out and hunt saturday. Time is slim though with a 3 month old at home. Hit me up if you can

No, you can still buy a hunting license for the current year (2011-2012 hunting season), but it will only be good until the end of this month. Same would go for a pig tag that you'd buy if you wanted to go out and hunt pigs during the remainder of this month.

You can also buy next years license and tags online. If you don't have a current one, you might as well not buy it for only the next three weeks. July 1 is the new season.

Wish you luck on a public land hog hunt. Best advice is get a land ownership map and hunt right against private land or hike into the most remote areas but then the problem is getting it out. Also you best chances are after the first rain or two when it allows hogs to leave the private land because they absolutely require water and mud holes but may roam in search of new food which could be exhausted by then on the private land. Chances also go downhill big time after rain stops and the puddles dry up. focus on the water when its dry in the summer, most of which is on private land so get close to it but make sure not to trespass.
