Mood swings!

Well like it states, mood swings who has them? I've been a Gun and Rod guy all my life and enjoy both equally but I go from one extreme to the other. I plan out a new rifle build and think about it for months some times a year or so. Lately I have had the Rod and Reel hair up my ..tt and can't get it out! I am buying and looking for deals everyday and being the frugal spender that I am I hesitate one too many times and the deals I find expire or get sold. WTH is wrong with me? am I turning into one of those guy's?........

When I read the title I thought you were going to ask advice about female mood swings and I was going to tell you to go hunting and fishing and don't worry about it because you are hosed no matter what you do...

But now that I read your question, I realize this is far worse. My advice would be to organize your fishing trips around going hunting and you hunting trips around going fishing. I wish you great success because you won't have time to hold down a job and will need all the fish and game you can take just to feed yourself.

I'm starting to shift over to building fly rods. I used to build conventional salt water rods when I was a teenager, and then put it down for 20 years. I'm sure there's a learning curve here (and stuff to buy, for sure). It'll be nice to play with butt wraps instead of buttstocks (for a while).

I've been loaded up on saltwater gear for years. No interest in buying all the new stuff that's out there.
My souped up 4/0's and Newells etc....work fine.

Too may fisherman with spendy gear that have no idea how to fish.

The "sport" in sportfishing isn't really my thing, but I do enjoy killing fish to fill my freezer.

It's not unlike my vacillations between shooting and cars. I love 'em both, and can't afford either one!

Your not alone. I have a few hobbies and I change em year round.

Half the year fishing, the other hunting, in between are firearms training, competition, force-on-force training, archery competition, etc.... But when that hunting season starts, all other hobbies are put to a hault.

Been there, done that...Have a rack full of Winston's, Thomas & Thomas & Sage rods to prove it.
