Tannerite+ground squirrels?

im not a F&G regs guru but I wouldnt think that it violates any for baiting, since they are non game mammals and are considered rodents. section 475 (E) says that you cant use bait in conjunction with dogs, so as long as you dont use dogs I think you should be ok. I would think that it would be similar to baiting a rat trap, its just an explosive rat trap

we use tannerite all the time. most gun shops sell it now. definitely not illegal here. me and my dad joked once about doing the same thing to coyotes down at our property. but squirrels... now thats just funny. and as far as baiting, i read what i could on the dfg site. i think you are good to go. and +1,000 on the filming of said event. heck i will dontate tannerite. and a camera. and ammo. haha

Ya from my interpertation baiting squirrels is legal too. Ill follow up tomorrow with a call to one of the offices. The grass is way to high to see them tannerite or not. I just need to keep them in the open to plink. Not sure if using tannerite for them is legal though...
