Nice shooting! My buddy got a draw for Mendota. I put in for draws at Kern and Wister, hopefully I draw something.

krypto, I’m looking for new blind buddies. My group of guys is great, but more and more busy as our kids get older (dad life stuff😁).

Think I’m gonna sweat line San Jack on Wednesday. PM me if interested. Even if not, it’s early in the season…

Went to Mendota yesterday. It was a slow day. Met two other hunters and ended up hunting with them. For the 4 of us we ended up with two gadwall (one was banded) and one ringneck.

Krypto, yeah that super slowness seems to be par for the course in the 2nd and 3rd weekends of the season at the reserves, especially when the warm pleasant weather persists through the end of October. PRAY FOR COLD, RAIN AND WIND!!!

Good news is while I'm waiting for the colder weather to get the ducks moving my buddy got pheasant draws for Little Dry Creek and Mendota. I think he is allowed to bring one hunter so I will tag along for those hunts.

I went out this morning looking for quail or rabbit. Ended up finding a hidden pond in the mountains and smoked some coot. It was the last place I would think there would be any water birds. I have named the spot the “cooter hole”.

That’s awesome man! I would check back there periodically. Where there are coots, there might be ducks….
