Since March 1st 2025, I have been fishing at the local City Lake and a few other local Public areas for Bass. To date, I have caught and landed, shore fishing only, over 1000 bass, currently at about 1075. The hard part, here in the Midwest, is having to change methods with the constantly changing weather conditions. The main method is using the Zoom plastic baits slowly drug along the bottom.
Eventually I will be going to some of the other larger lakes and hopefully some streams but this has been awesome so far.
Largest bass this season has been up to 24 inches and in the 6 to 7 pound range. When caught on 6 to 8 pound line it can be quite the fight and I love it. It is such a thrill to have what feels like another snagged line to feel that thump thump of the fish realizing he's been caught, then the fight is on.
